Blues - rock

British guitarist, singer/songwriter Laurence Jones released his first album Thunder in the Sky in 2012. Blues legend Walter Trout, known from John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, calls him “a cross between Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy: he is a genius” and invited Jones and his band to support him on his UK tour in 2013. The 23-year-old blues sensation Jones, together with Roger Inniss (bass guitar) and Miri Miettinen (drums), delivers a blend of rock and blues with a groovy and catchy modern edge. In 2014, he was handed the Young Artist of the Year Award at the British Blues Awards ceremony. He has a record deal with top label Ruf Records where he released his second album Temptation, recorded at the famous Dockside Studio in Louisiana, where blues greats such as B.B. King and Taj Mahal preceded him. The latest album What’s It Gonna Be shows exactly what Jones is capable of: merciless guitar solos, soulful vocals, and songwriting that grabs you by the collar.
