Blues – rock – pop

American music legend Leon Russell is perhaps the most accomplished and versatile musician in the history of rock ‘n roll. He started playing the piano at age 4 and was playing in Tulsa nightclubs by the time he was 14. At 17, he moved to Los Angeles to play in clubs there and the rest is history. In his unique 50 year career, he has played on, arranged, written and/or produced some of the best records in popular music. Numerous of his songs have been recorded by the greatest artists in the world, such as Delta Lady for Joe Cocker and Hummingbird for B.B. King. Leon Russell has played on pop, rock, blues, country, bluegrass, and gospel. As a session musician, arranger, singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist, record company owner, bandleader, and touring musician, he has collaborated with hundreds of artists, including B.B. King, JJ Cale, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, The Rolling Stones, and Elton John. In 2014, he released Life Journey, a musical celebration of originals and classics.
