Today, the organization is proud to announce the line-up for the 2nd edition of Curaçao International BlueSeas Festival that will take place on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 May 2016. This time, six stages will be built in the historical area of Pietermaai where a select group of international blues musicians will perform during the free street festival.
The program will offer something for any music lover. From blues, blues-rock, bluegrass, soul to gospel. From emerging blues-rock talent such as the British Laurence Jones and American Samantha Fish, both just in their mid-20s, to well-known established artists like Robert Randolph and The Family Band and Royal Southern Brotherhood.
The organization is particularly happy to announce American music legend, singer/pianist Leon Russell, perhaps the most accomplished and versatile musician in the history of rock ‘n roll. King, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, The Rolling Stones, and Elton John. Leon Russell is scheduled for Friday 6 May on the new Stevie Ray Vaughan stage located in the Kaya Wilson (Papa) Godett.
On Saturday 7 May, where else but on this very same stage, it will be Jimmie Vaughan’s turn with The-Tilt-A-Whirl Band featuring Lou Ann Barton. Four-time Grammy Award winner, Texas guitar legend, and older brother of Stevie Ray, Jimmie Vaughan has shared the stage with greats such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Buddy Guy.
