Burnside en zoon van bluesdrummer Calvin Jackson groeide <strong>Cedric Burnside<\/strong> letterlijk op met het genre. Op 13-jarige leeftijd toerde hij al met de band van zijn grootvader als drummer. Sindsdien heeft hij zijn vaardigheden uitgebreid met gitaarspelen en zingen, en groeide zelf uit tot een toonaangevende artiest in de country hill blues. Hij heeft inmiddels elf albums uitgebracht en won een Grammy voor <em>I Be Trying<\/em> uit 2021. Drie andere albums kregen een Grammy-nominatie, waaronder zijn meest recente, <em>Hill Country Love<\/em> uit 2024.
