As a teenager, John Németh was into hip hop and rock until a friend introduced him to blues. The two formed a band, Fat John & the 3 Slims. Németh went on to playing with Junior Watson and releasing his own music, but it wasn’t until he moved to California that he scored a recording contract. Nowadays he is a respected blues harmonicist, singer and songwriter with many Blues Music Awards nominations and twelve albums to his name. His latest studio recording, May Be The Last Time, was released in 2022, followed a year later by Live From The Fallout Shelter: Celebrating 20 Years. It marked a huge anniversary, not in the least because Németh overcame several serious diseases, the latter even resulting in the amputation of his lower jaw. But this accomplished artist doesn’t even let that stop him from playing the blues.
