She may be petite, but her voice certainly is not: Kat Riggins will blow you away with her vocal power. A blues woman through and through, she nonetheless mixes up the genre with soul, rock, gospel and more. Her eclectic taste in music is a result of her parents’ varied musical collection. Kat grew up singing together with her sister and other family members and has been honing her craft with many gigs and several international tours. Riggins has been compared to great female voices like Tina Turner, Etta James and Koko Taylor, but is mainly her own woman. Full of power, rasp and grit she can belt out one of her contemporary blues originals one minute, then deliver a tender, sultry standard the next. She released two albums; the latest, 2020’s Cry Out, was produced by Mike Zito, who is also her label boss.
