Singer and guitarist Laurie Morvan grew up listening to all kinds of music: her stepfather was a country fan, her mother leaned towards pop and light rock and Laurie herself absorbed all genres – everything except blues, that is! She played the flute and drums at school, but was hooked after her best friend introduced her to the guitar. Moving to Los Angeles after graduating college, she joined a local cover band as a guitarist and singer… and never looked back. She discovered the blues through the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan, dove into the history and was hooked once again. With six well-received albums to her name, Morvan has built a career playing guitar-driven, rocking blues. She and her Laurie Morvan Band have toured all over the world and can’t wait to make Curaçao the next place on their touring schedule.
