“Beautiful madness” is what American Blues Scene magazine called the music of pianist and singer Victor Wainwright. Although he started his career playing honky-tonk music, Wainwright broadened his musical style over the years and now includes virtually every corner of the blues. Growing up in a family of blues musicians, he formed his own bands from a young age. After enjoying time with previous bands Southern Hospitality and Victor Wainwright & the WildRoots, he formed The Train in 2017. The band released their self-titled debut album the year after, which received a Grammy Award nomination. Its successor Memphis Loud was released in 2020.
